I have talked many times about my accountability partner Angie Newton.  We have been partners for quite a while now.  It has been a partnership that has helped me build and advance my business.  While Angie and I were at the NAMS 3 workshop in January, we were approached by several people asking all sorts of questions about accountability partnerships.

The questions about being accountability partners continues.

Since we have returned we still continue to get questions.  Here are some examples: How do you find an accountability partner?  What do you do when you meet?  How often do you meet? There are also many other questions.  During a recent call between Angie and I we discussed these questions and decided to address them by writing a report.

All your questions will be answered!  Now we need you questions!  Please comment in this post and share what you want to know about accountability partners!

Now think, think, think!  Also please pass this on to a friend and have them think too!  Now what are you waiting for go leave a comment! ;)

Thanks,

Tesha HikingOnce again it is time for personal accountability! I have to say I had a great week.  I really good about the direction of things in my life and my business.  First of all I am getting consistent affiliate sales.  This is such a great thing because it is the first time I have had consistent affiliate sales.  So my business is going well!  Next I have been working on two personal goals that I have.

My first personal goal:

Losing weight. Isn’t that what most of us want to do. For me this is a huge deal.  I have literally never been thin.  I have never been fit!  In high school I hovered around 175lbs.  Since then I have steadily gained weight.  I have lost 20lbs here and 30lbs there but I have always gained it back and some more.  After having four children this also has added to my weight gain.  So I am going to tell you I am starting out at 274lbs.  So this week I got my Christmas present early!  I got a Bodybugg.  What is a Bodybugg you ask!  It is what the Biggest Loser contestant, on the hit show on NBC, wear strapped to their arms.  It calculates the calories they burn.  The Bodybugg comes with a free 6 month subscription to their online program.  Which helps you keep track of your calories consumed as well.

Now I got the Bodybugg on Wednesday, so I started on Thursday.  I am on track to lose about three pounds this week. I am so excited because it gives me the control to know how much I am consuming and burning.  If I haven’t burned enough toward the end of the day I go do something active.  It may be something as little as going and doing the dishes or walking up and down the stairs a few times.  I am really excited because I have a lot of hope that I will be able to lose all of this weight.  My goal is to lose 130 lbs by December 2010.  I need to lose 2.5lbs a week in order to do this!

My next goal is new.

I have decided to start writing a book. I have no idea if it will ever get published but I really feel like this is something I have wanted for a very long time and never knew it!  Have you ever experienced that?  This week I have begun.  I have many plots and story lines bouncing around in my head.  Yesterday I began by naming my characters and writing there backgrounds down.  I am working on my grammar and punctuation.  I know that I am not really great at that but with practice I will master it.  I just know it!

Okay so onto what I accomplished this week!  Here is what I did out of my personal accountability goals:

  • Complete 5 auto responder messages.- I did four.
  • Complete 10 pre-scheduled blog posts for my blogs. – I did twelve.
  • Complete 5 Squidoo Lenses. – I didn’t complete any.
  • Continue to write in my gratitude journal and affirmations – I missed two days.

As you can see I did pretty well for this week. This coming week I will be volunteering at a Scholastic Book fair on Tuesday so that day is completely wiped out from my schedule.  The rest of the week I will have limited time to work because of exercising and family obligations.

Here are my personal accountability goals for this coming week:

  • Complete 6 Squidoo Lenses.
  • 5 auto responder messages.
  • Set up four or five blog posts for my affiliate blog

That is it short and sweet!  I have a lot to get do this week on a personal basis with Christmas around the corner and my oldest daughter has a birthday this month too.  I would not recommend having a December baby!  It makes life complicated!

I hope you all have a great week and enjoy this season of the year!

A day at the beachOnce again it is time for my personal accountability for the week! This week was different.  I haven’t had one of these weeks in a while.  I just was not motivated to do a darn thing!  So I didn’t!  Okay I did accomplish some things but for the most part I gave in to my lack of motivation.

Here are some of my issues for the week:

I have been doing my affirmations each day and a few of my affirmations have really got me thinking.  One of them is “I deserve to be free of guilt.”  Doesn’t everyone deserve to be free of guilt?  Well on Thursday of this week I really didn’t want to do anything. I had my exercise clothes on but I didn’t exercise.  I got both of my younger kids in bed for there naps and instead of working like I normally do during nap time, I curled up with a blanket and a book in my big leather recliner.  It was great.  Now all day I fought my inner voice that said “You are falling behind.  You need to be working.” or “You shouldn’t be doing this!”.  But guess what I did it anyway!

Next issue:

Thursday started a day of reflection for me…Friday.  I started thinking about why I am not just happy being me.  Why am I not happy being a stay-at-home mom and doing sahm stuff!  I went through all the many issues I have in my life.  You know the ones…we all have them!  This is stuff that makes us who we are and why we react to things, the way we do! I haven’t come to any certain conclusions but I did start reading a book called Happy for No Reason by Marci Shimoff.  I really feel that this book may help me through this. I don’t want to feel guilty about taking a day off to just read a book.

Okay on to my personal accountability:

  • I will complete ten squidoo lenses for a Christmas niche.- Nope…I have a few started but none completed.
  • I will write an article each day and submit it to ezine articles to bring in traffic.- I did do two.
  • I will write at least two press releases.- Nope.
  • I will add four messages to my auto responders. – Nope not at all.
  • I will post five times on this blog.- This I did do!
  • Affirmations and Gratitude Journal- I didn’t this most of the week I missed a few mornings of affirmations and two days of my gratitude journal.

So as you can see I didn’t stay on track.  I have no real excuse and for the first time in a long time I DON’T feel guilty about it! That I am proud of!  I am committed to getting back on track this week.  I feel really good about things.  I am grateful I had the time to kind of take a break this last week.  This week even though we have Thanksgiving, I will be working.  My husband works at night and works Wednesday night and Thursday night.  So it won’t feel like much of a holiday because of that.  On Friday I may take the day off to go shopping.  I do love black Friday! It will really depend on the deals!

Here are my goals:

  • Complete 10 Squidoo lenses.
  • Write five articles for article marketing.
  • Update my autoresponder.
  • Create a new website for my Squidoo lenses.
  • Blog 3-5 times this week.
  • Continue doing affirmations twice a day and my gratitude journal!

To close my personal accountability for this week I want to say how grateful I am that I get to report to you every week! I enjoy showing what I have accomplished and what I have learned for the week.  We all have ups and downs and I really believe that how you respond to them determines what you gain!  I hope all of you have a fabulous Thanksgiving this week!  Keep up your hard work!

Until Next Week,

PS. Enjoy a good book during Thanksgiving!
