This week I have been thinking a lot about being prepared physically. Such as with food storage. When we lived in Ohio we were very well stocked with food. Since we moved last year we have not been able to accumulate what we had before. So this is our family goal is to stock up and have a year supply of food and other things to live on. This could have come in handy in the last few months because we have been short on cash quite a bit. Our first step this week is my husband and I are going to try our hand at canning. We are getting a bushel of peaches on Monday or Tuesday and will can the next day!! Exciting I know!! I have always been somebody that enjoys being self-reliant and this is one step closer!

I swear we have some of the same storage techniques! I have some of those powdered black shelves in my walk-in pantry (otherwise known as part of the dining room) as well. But that stash of hot chocolate is impressive, and the cereal!!! We’re supposed to hit our 2 for 1 sale on Kellogg’s some time soon, and replenish.
