Before Mark (my computer guy) came over this afternoon I called Seagate technical support. I was told essentially that my Seagate FreeAgent Go 320 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive-Black ST903203FAA2E1-RK is broke!! I know it is my fault that I dropped it but I was sad. Mark came while I was on the phone. We talked a while and he said “I think I might have your data on my hard drive.” When he works on someones computer he keeps their data for up to a month in case their hard drive crashes. So I got my hopes up. About an hour later Mark called and let me know he didn’t have it. I was sad again! So I started calling to find out how much data recovery costs. It was anywhere from $300-$2300. Since my hard drive has damage then it would be on the higher end.

I was really really sad and I had to have a good cry. I called my husband and cried. It was like a part of me had died. I know it sounds silly but I have collected all of this info for years and years! After I went through my email I found some of the ebooks I have bought through the years. I went to Staples and bought the Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500 GB USB 2.0 Port External Hard Drive-Silver ST305004FDA2E1-RK. This one is not portable. I also exchanged my broken hard drive for a new one. As I drove home I tried not to mourn all that I have lost. From now on I will have all my data on both of my hard drives! I have had such an up and down day. The good things that happened today is I got a rebate check in the mail and I won a book of stamps from a sweepstakes! So I did have some bright moments today!
