I have been really busy the past three months.
First of all I started my blog internship which took up at least ten hours a week, and most of the time more than that! That lasted for ten weeks. I have been also trying to keep up with this blog. My kids finished school and had all the end-of-the-year activities! You wouldn’t think they would have a lot of end-of-the-year activities since they were only in kindergarten and second grade but they did. My son had his birthday and was baptized, for which we had a family gathering. My husband went backpacking for three days, and I was alone with my kids. On top of all of that we went on vacation for ten days to a family reunion in California.
Now that is not all!
I have four kids eight years old and under and they have been home all summer long! That right there should say it all. So what is my point, you say? My house is a disaster! I look around and I can see:
- Dirty laundry.
- Counters in my kitchen covered with stuff.
- Diaper sitting next to the trash (not in it).
- Towel on the floor.
- Kitchen floor that is filthy (I don’t remember the last time it was mopped).
- The front of a dresser drawer on my couch (my daughter broke it off this morning).
- Toys all over the floor.
- The floor needs to be vacuumed badly!
I could go on but I won’t. My house has become a disaster because I have not had the time or energy to do some deep cleaning and keep my house looking nice. I am sure other mom’s can totally relate to this. Okay not only mom’s but everyone!
I have a plan!
A month ago I started a list of summer time cleaning. This is a list that I created of things that I needed to get done once I had a little extra time, once my internship was over and vacation was done. Well we got home from vacation on Wednesday and then guess what happened? Life!! The baby had pink eye and an ear infection. My two year old has double ear infections and developed pink eye later. Then I got the virus that caused it all! The original plan was that when we came home from vacation my husband, children and I would take a few days and do nothing but clean and deep clean the house. That has not happened and I don’t think it is going to happen!
The new plan.
So as I have started to feeling better I have started getting very irritated (that is what I do) as I walk through the house. I am tired of seeing every room a mess. My new plan is that on my list of things I need to get done each week,I am going to include one or two rooms in a week that I need to clean. This will help me to keep some balance and not have cleaning take over my life. This is going to be difficult for me because I am a list person. I like to get things done as soon as possible to cross it off my list and be done with it! I am going to try it this week and see what happens.
What about you?
Do you fall into this trap of letting your house go? What about your yard? Or maybe you let your emails get out of hand? It seems to be a constant struggle for some people (including me),to have everything just right. Especially when you have children. It can be really hard to organize your life. Life happens to all of us,we get behind on things and plans don’t work out. If there is a system involved then it can be a bit easier. I have found a great guide that can help out with this it is called How to Organize Your Life! The best part is that it is just $9. A lot of people spend that on coffee in a day or two. I don’t drink coffee but I can spend that much on a fast food lunch with my kids! If you really are in need of getting your life in order get this guide and see how it can help! You might just find you have more time than you thought. You can use that time to read a book, play with your kids, learn how to play piano or start playing a sport. You may just have time to take a nap each day! That would be heaven for most moms! Go get the guide and apply it to your life!
