ProtectedThis morning I was talking to my friend and accountability partner Angie Newton.  I shared with her my income goal.  She said “Oh I don’t want that much I would be happy with …”.  So this led into a discussion about what we really want!  I talked about how I really want to payoff debt, save an large emergency fund, save to buy a house or build one and then give, give and give some more!

Angie went on to share with me that she has a vision board. As we talked about our dreams she said “I don’t want everything that is on my vision board.”  Her dreams have changed.  I think as life moves forward our dreams do change and evolve.  After our discussion I realized that I do not think about my dreams often enough.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a trial for me. I have not seen the results that I have wanted so I decided something needed to change.  I was going to start a service type business so I could get some money in my pocket right now.  As I thought and contemplated I realized I am the problem!  I haven’t been dreaming.  I haven’t been using the Law of Attraction.  I haven’t been praying about what I need to be learning from this experience.  I haven’t been using a vision board.  I haven’t been seeing what I want and believing that it will happen.

I have been my biggest road block!

So what am I doing about it?  Well first of all I am taking action. I am putting myself in a state of gratitude.  When I am thankful for everything I have blessings come more quickly into my life.  No maybe that is not quite correct.  I am still blessed when I am not grateful but I don’t see it so clearly!  So I bought a gratitude journal.  Not only am I going to give prayers of thanksgiving everyday but I am also going to write it down!

Vision Board

This week I am going to work on a vision board.  I am going meditate and look at it everyday. I am going to feel what it is like to have each one of the things on that vision board. One of the things I want and I really look forward to is going to a restaurant and giving a great waiter/waitress a $100 tip!  Another thing is being able to help someone who has lost there job by paying their rent or utilities.  That is what gets me excited.  I don’t want a big house because I don’t want to clean it or have to hire someone to do it!  I don’t want fancy cars.  I want to be of service because the Lord blessed me!!  This is what will be on my vision board because it isn’t just about me!

Work

I am going to work hard.  I am going to learn to do things right.  I am going to fall flat on my face at times and that is okay because I am going to come out on the other side stronger and a better person. You see this hard work is not just about money!  Yes, money is a goal in there but it is about a life I want to live.  A life I will live.  A life I choose to live and a life I will create!

How will I create it?

I will create it by working. By thinking about it. By praying that I am on the right tracking and listening for the answers.  By believing that it will happen. By creating that gratitudevision board so I can see my life everyday.  By being grateful for what I have now! I believe this to be the Law of Attraction.  I will attract this life that I want because I am the creator of my life.  I can create what I desire because God gave me the opportunity to choose!  I can choose to be happy or sad!  I choose happy.  I can choose to grateful or greedy.  I can choose whatever I want.  I choose to be happy.  I choose to be of service.  I choose to have a good life now, not just in the future!

What am I saying.

I have been thinking a lot lately.  Angela Wills had a great post about the Law of Attraction.  This post, my conversation with Angie and how my down I have been has reminded me that I need choose my life.  That is not what I have been doing.  So here on out I choose to be a success by Failing Forward!  That is a title of a book by John Maxwell.  I choose to be a success no matter what life deals me.  I choose to react well to bumps in the road because I believe those bumps will be blessings! I will be successful because I create that success with God’s help.  I am only a creator through him.

I don’t know if this has inspired anyone but I felt like it was important to share.  This is a huge part of my journey. So what will you create your life? Go create a vision board of your own.  Cut pictures out of magazines.  Put it where you see it every day.  Look at it at least once a day and feel what it would be like to have that kind of life! It is really fun!

  • Ohh heavy for a Monday morning…just kidding! This post actually excites me. I have been thinking about what I want to put on my vision board to replace those things I no longer need or want.

I am definitely one of those people that are almost always positive and I am grateful for what I have but there is much more that I need to create so I can do more good in the world. I also want to live comfortably and travel. But again, I also want to be able to help people in different ways.

The tip thing is fun. We always give good tips (not $100 mind you LOL) but when we can give a really nice one the look on their face is priceless. I want to do this ALL the time!

The taking action part is an issue I struggle with most. I get going good and then I get frustrated when I’m not sure which direction I should be going (if that makes any sense).

That book looks good, I might just have to add that to my Amazon list for this month. I just got a book to review called, Embrace the Struggle by Zig Ziglar and although I’m only on chapter 3 it really is good. I’ll do a review on it when I’m done.

Great post and really got me thinking today. Happy November, Danielle!
