I have briefly talked before about my Elite Membership on The Self Starter Weekly Tips forum that is run by Lynn Terry. This is my favorite place to be.  I am not kidding you either.  If I could spend all my time on the forum I would.

Where this began…

I joined the Self Starter Weekly Tips Forum years ago.  I believe it was back in 2005.  I would go on every once in a while but it was not often at all.  I was running a different business and I used the forum as advertising, so to speak!  Even back then I new it was a great place to be!   So when I started my journey back in March of this year I found the forum again.  Then I discovered Lynn Terry.

Why is Lynn Terry important to me?

She is real!  She is a great example of success and she is an affiliate marketer.  So I started paying attention to her.  She has been the best teacher I could ever ask for!  I had checked to see if I could join her Elite membership group and the page kept telling me that membership was closed.  Of course I was disappointed but I kept checking back!  I was so happy when I was on vacation in July, and I read an email stating she had opened up the Elite membership again.  I joined before I even got home from vacation because I didn’t want to miss anything!

Why do I love the Elite group?

I am inspired by the members.  Everyone is working on a project of their own.  We all have direction in our business.  If ever I have a question the elite group jumps in right away to help.  I will give you an example.  I have been participating in Jimmy D. Browns membership program Affiliatenaire.  The lesson I was on was talking about using articles from an affiliate site to add content to my blog.  Well I had not chosen affiliates and when I started looking for affiliates I realized that I couldn’t find many.  So panic set in.  I had been working on this blog for four weeks and now I thought, I might have to let it go because I don’t have affiliates. This week I have been thinking a lot about being prepared physically. Such as with food storage. When we lived in Ohio we were very well stocked with food.  Since we moved last year we have not been able to accumulate what we had before.  So this is our family goal is to stock up and have a year supply of food and other things to live on.  This could have come in handy in the last few months because we have been short on cash quite a bit.  Our first step this week is my husband and I are going to try our hand at canning. We are getting a bushel of peaches on Monday or Tuesday and will can the next day!!  Exciting I know!!  I have always been somebody that enjoys being self-reliant and this is one step closer!

Why is your blog named “Danielle’s Journey”? I have read several of the Work at Home Mom (WAHM) articles on your site – do you consider yourself to be a SAHM, a WAHM or something in between?  Do you have advice for anyone who is considering becoming a WAHM?

To answer your first question I named my blog “Danielle’s Journey”, because I have done so many little businesses to earn money and have given up on them.  I had a very successful ebay business twice!  I have done network marketing and still get a check every month from that.  I have also worked as a guide for ChaCha.com, a mobile and text search service.  I just got to the point that I wanted to find a business that I love and could make enough money to get completely out of debt and have my husband stay home with us.

So Danielle’s Journey is just that: my journey to find a business I really love to do.  I think I am getting really close with affiliate marketing.  I also have some ideas to expand on as my business develops.

I definitely see myself as both a Stay-at-home Mom and a Work-at-home Mom! I have been at home with my kids for over eight years now.  For a long time I was just a stay-at-home Mom.  Then I got the itch to contribute, so to speak.  My intention was never to have a full-time income but to take some pressure off the budget a bit! Okay I am so excited I can’t even tell you! I AM GOING TO NAMS3!! I first heard of NAMS (Niche Affiliate Marketing System) back in June when Lynn Terry tweeted about it.  I looked at the sales page and thought “I think I will go to that when I have a little more money!”  Next Lynn tweeted in July about a webinar she was doing for NAMS.  So I promptly signed up for the Pre-NAMS webinars.  These were put on by David Perdew who is the organizer and founder (so to speak) of NAMS.  I listened to Lynn and loved it.

Every week David had a webinar with a speaker that would be presenting at NAMS.  Each time I heard one of these webinars I got more and more excited.  I wanted to go to NAMS this month so bad. But my husband and I made a commitment that we would pay cash for everything and not use credit cards.

So the weekend of NAMS came and I went and visited my sister in Idaho.  I went for two reasons, first to see my sister before my kids went back to school and second to get away from the Tweet Deck and all the #NAMS tweets!  I knew I would be so jealous because I wanted to be there!!  I did purchase a NAMS4U 2 GB Flash Drive that includes just about everything from NAMS1 (February 2009) & NAMS2 (August 2009).

When I came back from Idaho on Monday the NAMS hash tag was going crazy on twitter! I told my husband that no matter what I will be going to NAMS3.  So I decided to see if there was a NAMS 3 page up yet and there was!!  There is I should say!  I was even more excited because until August 31st it will be $197.  Then it will go up to $697!!  Let me tell you David Perdew should be charging at least a thousand for all the quality presenters that will be there.

Okay now after all of that I am sure you are wondering what exactly is NAMS!!

NAMS is a workshop! It is not a conference where you just sit and learn.  It is a workshop where you learn and then you DO what you have been taught.  Many people have come home from NAMS making their first affiliate sales!  I want this!!  Not only are they having high quality presenters like Willie Crawford, Jeff Herring, Mark Hendricks and Lynn Terry (of course many more), they also have high quality aides to help out.  There are people to assist you in what you are starting!!  I think this is worth much more than $197 or even $697!!  Here are some videos from the most recent NAMS.  Watch them and then go check out the Niche Affiliate Marketing System 3 website!
