So just like I said in my Miracle Monday post we went to the cemetery.  Our family loves to go to cemeteries.  I know some people will think that is morbid but we love it.  Some of the reasons we love the cemetery is because it is so peaceful and quiet.  It is a great place to exercise.  It is also just a great place to be alone with your thought.  I am sure my love of cemeteries also stems from my love of genealogy/family history.  The headstone represent real people to me that have lived lives.  Their lives may have short, long, happy or sad.  They may have accomplished a lot or very little.  This doesn’t matter at all!  All that matters is they lived!

We have never lived close to a cemetery that family is buried in. Growing up I lived in Washington state.  My dad is from Idaho and mom is from England.  So in the little town I grew up in there wasn’t any family buried there.  When my husband and I moved to Ohio my kids learned to love cemeteries because I would go exercise there.  There was a small Catholic cemetery that was about a half mile from the house and there was a big beautiful city cemetery.  I will never forget being overdue with my second daughter and walking the rolling hills of the city cemetery.  This cemetery was a mixture of very old and new.  It had a few ponds, some ducks and geese and fountains.  The best part of the cemetery were the great big trees.  Last spring we even went for one last walk there (I was pregnant again) before we moved. My miracle for today is my ancestors.  I love genealogy and in my research from the past I found that I came from Scottish royalty.  Now this family eventually left Scotland because of religious persecution.  They ended up moving to South Carolina.  Where on their land was the battle of Fishing Creek in the Revolutionary war.  They fought and the women took care of the wounded.

I think it is fitting that on Memorial day I think of them.  They are why I am who I am!  They were strong enough to leave their homeland for the beliefs they had.  God was more important to them then pomp and circumstance!  Then they come to this country and have to fight again for their freedom.  I am so grateful for my heritage.  I grateful for my ancestors.  They are a miracle in my life!  In just a little while as a family we will be going to visit some of the graves of our ancestors to say thank you!

Have a great holiday everyone!

Review Blog

Start a Review Blog

Have you ever gone online in search of someone offering their opinion about a product or service you’re interested in purchasing? People do it all the time and that’s why it’s a great idea for a blog.

Over at Just Add Sweat they offer great eGuides on how to start a home-based business. One of these guides is ‘How to Start a Review Blog for Fun and Profit’.

JoAnne Wescott and Nicole Dean started the site because they were sick of the hype and fluff offered out there and wanted to provide something real that gets results. There’s a quote on their website that really does a great job of defining their whole concept:
“Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” – Thomas A. Edison

What I really love about all their eGuides, including the Review Blog guide, is that they are easy to read through, provide clear action steps and even give audio examples of people who’ve been successful with the idea.

The premise (as with all the JustAddSweat eGuides) is that they provide the inspiration and you provide the sweat!

Saturday 9: Hot Fun in the Summertime

1. Is summer your favorite season? Why? Nope it is not.  I like it but I am not a fan of hot hot weather!

2. Do you exercise more in the summer because you wear less clothing? No it is just as sporadic as it always is.

3. Do you enjoy tanning or are you more concerned about the dangers of basking in the sun? My mother is from England and I was blessed (if you want to look at it that way) with very fair skin (even more so then her).  I do my best to stay clear of tanning.

4. You are on the beach when a waiter appears for your drink order. What do you ask for? A huge glass of ice water. Nothing better than water!

5. Do you camp in the summertime? Not usually.  I always have hopes to but have never had enough time to.

6. What was your favorite summer vacation as a kid? Going to California to see my first niece, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld and Disneyland It was very fun!

7. Do you enjoy sleeping outdoors? Yes, until the morning when I wake up with a headache (big time allergies).

8. Do you throw a summer barbecue every year? No, this is the first summer we will have a barbecue grill!

9. Have you ever been to a nude beach? If yes, what did you think? No way!
